Kozani, 05 June 2008: “People with Disabilities and Mass Media” -

An event on “People with Disabilities and Mass Media”, organised by the Secretariat General of Communication – Secretariat General of Information (SGC - SGI), took place at the Exhbiition Centre of Kozani, on Thursday 05th June, 2008.

The discussion focused on:

  • The rights of  People with Disabilities and Mass Media
  • Issues of Disability in Mass Media: how the media shape and form public opinion

The event was organized within the framework of activities for People with Disabilities undertaken by the SGC - SGI, on the initiative of the Minister of State and Government Spokesman Theodoros Roussopoulos.

The event included the screening of the following films, which received awards at the 1st International Documentary and Disability Festival - Emotion Pictures that took place at the Benaki Museum 16 – 18 June 2007, and was also organized by the SGC - SGI:

  • " My eyes" by Erlend E. Mo, Denmark (2006) - 19 minutes
  • "God in the Horizon"  by the Emotion Pictures cinema workshop - 29 minutes
  • "Phoenix Dance" by Karina Epperlein, USA (2006) - 16 minutes
